Living on Purpose!

Updated: Jan 28, 2023

Jeremiah 1v 5

Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

I want to remind you that you have a set purpose. Here is a definition of purpose that I quite like: “The position for which something is done or created or for which something exists.”

You dear one have a purpose and are purposeful; God has great plans for you! You can make a difference your life counts.

You are created to know God! To know His character and understand His ways. You are created For Gods glory OUR purpose in life is to glorify God in this world! Do not compare yourself to others or give up if someone seems to a better job than you.

Of course, there are others who have more talents! However, imagine if all the evangelist, preachers, teachers in the world decided to stop trying because someone else did a better job. Where would we be?

Do not minimize your role!

You are created to use the talents God gave you. All Christians collectively form the Body of Christ. The body is formed of many different parts (Romans 12: 4-8 & 1Corinthians 12v 12-27) All are important, it does not matter, what part of the body you are.

What are you going to do with the rest of your life? Whether you've got five years left or fifty years or a hundred years. I want to remind you to be the best you. There's no greater purpose than to serve God where you are. Serve God at school, at work, or at home. You serve God where He put you and in the day-to-day routine of life.

Let me conclude this blog with this beautiful piece I came across a few years ago.

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside just before putting him into the box. “There are five things you need to know,” he told the pencil, “Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.

ONE: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.

TWO: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil.

THREE: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

FOUR: The most important part of you will always be what's inside.

FIVE: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.”

The pencil understood and promised to remember and went into the box with purpose in its heart. Author Unknown

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you; always remember you have a purpose, never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.
